2 Day Lake District Excursion
This two day tour covers the most breathtakingly beautiful and
famous places in Scotland - Highlands and Loch Ness. It has remarkable
landscapes, and is always the first choice of the tourists. One
of the top ten European famous tourism places, the first thing comes
into one's mind is the Loch Ness monster. It is this mystery which
makes Loch Ness so famous throughout the world. Our Scotland two
day tour is designed specifically to offer a comfortable and economic
tour with plenty of opportunity to stop and take memorable pictures
as you will come to expect from Ratho Coaches.
Your itnerary will take you to the following:
Glasgow
- the biggest city of Scotland
Admire the architecture around George Square. Next, we visit Glasgow's
15th century Cathedral, St Mungos. Finally, a trip to Glasgow's
impressive university buildings and Kelvin museum.
Loch
Lomond National Park

Travel north from Glasgow, towards the beautiful Loch Lomond. Here
you have the opportunity to have lunch, and look at the modern visitor
centre, with it's stunning views of the Loch. Before leaving the
National Park, we visit the lovely lakeside village of Luss.
Highlands
- the best landscapes
Continuing north from Loch Lomond, towards Fort William through
some of the best scenery that Scotland can offer. We make several
stops in the Highlands, which include famous Glencoe, in order
to enjoy the views and to take photographs. The last stop before
Fort William takes us to the "Three Sisters" at Glencoe. These
are a group of three mountains that dominate the view.

William - Start or End Point for the West Highland Way

The end of the first day takes us to the town of Fort William.
Once checked into your accommodation, you are free to explore the
town, admiring the beautiful Loch Linne.

Augustus
From Fort William we drive to Fort Augustus. Fort Augustus is the
largest village on Loch Ness. Significantly, it is at Fort Augustus
that the Caledonian Canal rises through several picturesque locks
to continue southward on its way to the Atlantic Ocean near Fort
William.
Loch
Ness (Urquhart Castle)
From Fort Augustus we drive along the banks of Loch Ness towards
Urquhart Castle. The castle sits on the edge of the water, commanding
a magnificent view of Loch Ness (Perhaps you will see the monster,
many have tried!).
Inverness
- the capital of the Highlands
From the castle, we travel east towards Inverness, the "Capital"
of the highlands. We visit Inverness castle and admire the panoramic
views of the city. Here we have lunch, then travel down towards
Stirling.
Stirling
Castle - Brave heart

Our final destination is Stirling Castle, featured in the film,
"Braveheart", is perhaps the most famous castle in Scotland. It
can be seen from miles around, as it dominates the city, sitting
on top of an extinct volcano. Also, view the Wallace monument whose
built in tribute to William Wallce, hero of the nation).
